General Manager – Energy Consulting, GE Energy
Hamid Elahi (BSEE ’77; MSEE ’79; PhDEE ’83) has worked for GE Energy in a wide range of energy-related businesses for the last 28 years. He currently is the general manager of energy consulting at GE Energy in Schenectady, New York. Hamid is responsible for leading the GE Energy Consulting team in support of clients worldwide. This includes a full portfolio of thermal and renewable generation, electrical power systems, and power economics performance analyses for various stakeholders in electric power industry. Hamid is a Fellow of the IEEE Power Engineering Society, and he is vice president of the CIGRE US National Committee. Hamid has over 30 publications in IEEE, IEE, and CIGRE, and he has received five industry awards.
